Bernadette Clement has lived in Stormont–Dundas–South Glengarry for 24 years, where she works as a lawyer at a legal clinic. As a current three-term Cornwall city councillor, she brings a wealth of political experience and local knowledge to the riding.

The proud bilingual daughter of a Franco-Manitoban mother and Trinidadian-Canadian father, Bernadette celebrates Canada’s diversity, and she believes deeply that her community deserves a Member of Parliament who works to unite each other – not divide them. From infrastructure to health care to the environment, Bernadette is focused on developing policies that will benefit all, not just a select few.

Driven by a strong sense of community, Bernadette works extensively with local non-profit organizations. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Family Counselling Centre, Kinsmen Community Residence, Maison Baldwin House, and the Eastern Ontario Health Unit. As city counselor, she chairs the City Budget Committee and represents Cornwall in various organizations and committees, such as the Divestiture of the Port of Cornwall Process and the Akwesasne Liaison Committee.
